The Kaligandaki is regarded as one of Nepal’s holiest rivers and is named after “Kali,” the goddess of destruction. The “Mighty Kali,” which rises high on the Tibetan Plateau, descends through the Himalayas, forming between the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Mountains one of the world’s deepest gorges.
This is the best river adventure in Nepal, in our opinion, because it offers thrilling white water rapids, breathtaking mountain views, traditional villages, endless suspension bridges, waterfalls, pristine jungle rich in wildlife, deep gorges, cultural temples, and lovely white sandy beaches for camp.
