Pharping is a day trip that we provide daily from the Kathmandu Valley. Join us for a cultural tour of Dakshinkali and Pharping with one of our local guides.
From 9:00 to 9:30 am, our knowledgeable local guide will come and pick you up from your hotel and take you on a full-day tour to Dakshinkali Temple, Shesh Narayan Temple, and Pharping Monestery.
First, we’ll head to Dakshinkali, where one of Nepal’s most well-known temples is the Dakshinkali Temple. This shrine is dedicated to Kali, the terrifying manifestation of Lord Shiva’s wife Parwati. It takes 45 minutes to get to this Dakshinkali temple from Kathmandu, which is to the southwest. Particularly on Tuesday and Saturday, when they sacrifice male goats and cocks more often, hundreds of worshippers congregate in a large throng. An real festival is held here during the month of October during Dashain.
After visiting Dakshinkali, you will travel by car to the Pharping monastery, stopping along the way to see the Shesh Narayan temple. Pharping is a prosperous Newari town, but many Tibetans are believed to control the ancient Buddhist pilgrimage sites there. A tour of these religious sites from Kathmandu is a persuading excursion.
