One well-known location (Hill station) is Nagarkot, which is located around 2100 meters above sea level and about 32 kilometers to the east of Kathmandu. In addition to being an entirely different experience, traveling to Nagarkot by car involves passing through a distinctive pine forest of hills, which is only a short distance from Kathmandu.
Nagarkot is a well-known hill station for day trips by bike or short hikes. On clear days, Nagarkot is a fantastic location to take in the panoramic view of the main Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Everest.
A historic city called Bhaktapur is also on the Nagarkot day trip route. We will also have the opportunity to visit this distinctively small city. Bhaktapur is home to ancient and distinctive architecture, as well as temples and palaces built by previous Malla Kings that are surrounded by legends.
Up to the second part of the 15th century, Bhaktapur, the greatest of the three Newar kingdoms of the Kathmandu Valley, served as the capital of Nepal. More over 81,728 people call it home, the vast majority of them are still Newars. Historically, the third kingdom was more remote than the other two.
Bhaktapur is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its rich culture, temples, and wood, metal, and stone artworks. It also has the best-preserved palace courtyards and old city center in all of Nepal.
