The Annapurna Conservation Area Project, which includes Nepal’s biggest protected biodiversity zone, includes the Lower Mustang Trek (Lower Mustang). The trek offers a chance to learn about Tibetan culture as Mustang is recognized for its close historical and cultural links to Tibet. Additionally, the hospitable atmosphere of the Gurung and Mag communities makes them stand out. The stunning view of the Himalayas from Dhaulagiri and the entire Annapurna range is an experience of a lifetime.
A six-hour flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara is followed by a two-hour drive to Nayapul, where the Lower Mustang Trekking with Nepal Guide Treks begins. The route goes to Ghandruk (1950 m), a Gurung village renowned for its significance to culture and heritage. The path takes you to Ghorepani, where thick rhododendron trees surround you (2874m). Early in the morning, one must ascend from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m) for the most breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs.
The Lower Mustang route eventually makes its way to Marpha’s apple orchard through Tatopani and Ghasa (2670m). The path travels through the Kali Gandaki Valley, the deepest gorge in the world. The next destination is Muktinath (3795m), a Hindu temple with significant religious significance, after which the trail continues to Jomsom. An early morning flight to Pokhara is unquestionably a viable option after several days of hiking. The hike is finished by Nepal Guide Treks with a drive from Pokhara back to Kathmandu.
