At a height of 5,132 meters/…….. feet, Ganja La Pass is one of the hardest Himalayan crossings. The Ganja La Pass trip offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks, a glimpse into Tamang and Sherpa culture, Buddhist temples, and picturesque scenery.The journey starts in Langtang National Park with a hike to Kyanjin Gompa and the well-known Langtang valley. The breathtaking mountain peaks, such as Langtang Lirung 7,234 m/23,734 ft, Langtang Ri 7,205 m/23,638 ft, Langsisa Peak 6,427 m/21,086 ft, Yala Peak 5,520 m/18,110 ft, and Ganjala Peak, may be seen while you explore the Tserko-Ri.

The Ganja La pass is crossed on the way from Langtang to the Helambu area. After leaving the Langtang valley and crossing the Langtang Khola (stream), the path ascends sharply through a juniper and rhododendron forest to the Ganja La. In the moraines, the path to the Pass is very challenging. The Pass offers a breathtaking perspective of the Alps.

The Hyolmo people live in Helambu and practice shamanism and Buddhism. Helambu is well-known for its sweet apples and its Buddhist monastery with beautiful artwork and decorations. Finally, after traveling in a round around Helambu, you return to Kathmandu.

  • Day 1 : Fly into Kathmandu (1,300m), then go to the hotel

  • Day 3 : Travel time by car to Syabrubesi (1,550m) is 145 km/ 7 hours.
  • Day 4 : 6-hour trek to Lama Hotel (2,380 m).
  • Day 5 : 6 or 7 hours to trek to Langtang village (3,430m).
  • Day 6 : trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m).
  • Day 7 : 7 to 8-hour excursion to Tsergo Ri (4,984m) and return to Kyanjin
  • Day 8 : 5-6 hours to trek to Ganja La phedi (4300m).
  • Day 9 : Trek to Keldang (4250m) in 6 or 7 hours after crossing the Ganja La pass (5130m).
  • Day 10 : 5 or 6 hours to trek to Yak Kharka (4000m).
  • Day 11 : 5-6 hours to trek to Tarke Gyang (2,590m).
  • Day 12 : 3/4 hours to trek to Sermathang (2,610m).
  • Day 13 : Driving to Kathmandu: 1.5 hours drive and 3/4 hours of trekking
  • Day 14 : Transfer to final destination
