For those who only have a limited amount of time in Nepal for its traditional mountain treks and wish to feel the alpine zone and see the Himalaya, there is a 5-day short trek to Holy Glacial Lake of Gosaikunda. Hindus frequently visit Gosaikunda Lake (4380 m) as a place of pilgrimage during Janai Purnima in August because of its profound religious importance. Before reaching Cholang Pati, where you get your first view of the distant, towering Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, and Annapurna, you spend the first several days rising through forests. After spending the night at one of Lauribinayek’s tea houses, rise early the next morning to climb up to the lakes. Return to Dhunche and Kathmandu the following days.
You won’t need to pack a lot of equipment because the tea house accommodations on this short walk are excellent. The amount of days stated below is less than our typical itineraries, so if you’re short on time, send us a message and let us help you plan your own, personalized vacation.
The Gosaikunda trip is rated as medium hard in terms of difficulty, but the amount of difficulty also relies on factors like your age, your habit of going on hikes, your level of physical fitness, the itinerary you pick, and the weather during the season you’re hiking. These factors determine how difficult or easy the walk will be. You must bear in mind that you will arrive at 4380 meters from Dunche in two days (2100m). If you choose a 5-day itinerary, you can descend 2200 meters from Gosaikunda to Dunche in a single day. If you are a novice hiker who is unaccustomed to trekking but who enjoys the outdoors and is willing to go.
